Immigrating to Canada under the BC Provincial Nominee Program

Immigrating to Canada under the BC Provincial Nominee Program

Is the BC Provincial Nominee Program right for you?

If you are looking to immigrate to Canada, and specifically want to live in British Columbia, the BC Provincial Nominee Program may be the right route for you. This program provides a way for skilled foreign workers in high demand and experienced entrepreneurs to gain permanent residency in B.C.

There are 3 main streams of entry through the BC PNP including:

  1. Skills Immigration
  2. Express Entry BC
  3. Entrepreneur Immigration

Express Entry BC

  • If you are an eligible skilled worker, the Express Entry BC program provides a faster route to immigrate to B.C.
  • Express Entry BC connects to the federal Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry system to speed up the permanent residence process.
  • In order to apply under the provincial stream, you must also qualify for one of the categories in the Express Entry program.
  • There are 5 main categories to apply under.

There are several eligibility requirements to qualify for the Express Entry BC skilled worker category.

These requirements include, among others, that you must first accept a valid job offer from a B.C. employer. That employer must also be willing to support your application, which means they will have to fulfill certain responsibilities during your application process.

You will also need to have relevant experience and training for the job you are hired for.

If you don’t fulfill the requirements for this program, however, there are several other programs structured toward gaining Permanent Residency in Canada. Determining the right program for you requires consideration of many factors, including any relevant work history, education, and whether you plan on returning to school.

If you would like some guidance on navigating the Permanent Residency process, please contact me today to book an initial consultation with me to explore your options and determine the right path for you.
